For christ's sake can't we move on from all the slashing and killing and big machinery noise to win? What does win mean? I may not agree with your definition of winning.
I mean we've got to stop it.

I really do love you guys for fighting in the wars. I mean I do.
I"m so sorry you had to.
There are women who love the big machines too Hester. Not sure what that has to do with anything.

I been trying to understand why french feminists are still so interested in Freud.
The non phallic masculine
I miss those big trucks, I alwmost cried yesterday, on the verge of sobbing watching a stupid trucking video,,, sometimes I wonder if jimbo misses those big planes, or Cecil the big ships, or surfermike the heliocopters swooping down like deus ex machina. I am not sure I am sorry for them. But I do feel fortunate that I did not get to go and do my patriotic chores. I don't know Hester, I have met many veterans who I never felt sorry for. It just sounded like such a chick thing to say. 8)

Maybe a even bigger mystery for me is why I am interested in non phallic masculinity
I been reading the Illiad again.

Athena the bitch goddess of war
she could make war so lovely
men could not resist it.

don't mean nuttin
just mythology
I am sorry for the soldiers who are there now hester.
very sorry, I feel responsible forthem being there
I hold Hillary responsible
I been thinking seriously about voting for her
that is how responsible I hold her for this war.

obama for vp
Ophra for secretary of the treasury

sorry I been into the bitter herbs again
wrong holiday

Don't forget good old "Balls Up" Margaret Thatcher and the "Malvinas" fiasco:

Humans ( either gender) are unpredictable.

Even British humans ( and that's my ancestors-- all the way back to Sir Thomas . . .)

After hearing the testimony of former U.S. Army sergeant Phillip McDowell, along with representatives of the Mennonites and Quakers, the Citizenship and Immigration Committee voted 7 to 4 to recommend that the Canadian government immediately implement a program to allow Iraq War resisters (and resisters of any war not sanctioned by the United Nations) and their families to stay in Canada. The motion also calls for an immediate halt to deportation proceedings in these cases. The win was possible because the two Liberal Party members on the committee voted in favor — something that was far from guaranteed going into the hearing. [Laura K's blog from the hearing]

Although no war resister has yet to be deported from Canada, last month the Supreme Court of Canada shut the door on any possible legal solution for sanctuary for resisters. This resolution comes at a time when deportation is becoming a real possibility for some of the resisters. It's a hopful first step towards a political solution.

The resolution passed by the committee, which must now be taken up by the full House of Commons when it returns from winter break in early February, reads:

The Committee recommends that the government immediately implement a program to allow conscientious objectors and their immediate family members (partners and dependents), who have refused or left military service related to a war not sanctioned by the United Nations and do not have a criminal record, to apply for permanent resident status and remain in Canada; and that the government should immediately cease any removal or deportation actions that may have already commenced against such individuals.

Please sign the "Dear Canada: Let US War Resisters Stay!" appeal today if you have not already done so.
