crispy critter

Post by constantine » May 8th, 2008, 11:46 pm

tough as nails and smooth as silk
i stay crispy, even in milk
i'm a roadrunner baby
the big kahuna,
i put the sauce on conte luna
i'm a froot loop , a loop garoo
there ain't nothing i won't do
...and yet
i have a soft side
call me mr. sensitive
i prance about the buttercups
i have a dozen poodle pups
bingo with my grammy dear
i put lemon in my beer
a crepe suzette with no regrets
but don't cross me
don't mess with my sister
i'm a redhot scorchin fever blister
i'm one of the monkeys
yes i'm a believer
saints be praised
yes i'm a believer
tough as nails and smooth as silk
i stay crispy, even in milk

It is hard to be humble when you are crispy good.

I loved this one too.
Stupendous

I feel like I saw the conception of this poem.

On mnaz's thread on creative I am humbler than you

Which came first
the poem

Or the jam?

Enquiring minds want to know.

I read a novel about a guy who worked for a tabloid. The author is Donald E. Westlake, I forgot the title.

In the novel he wrote articles like

"The beer and pototo chip diet"

the humble thread triggered it - also bennie's poem. i like "i put the sauce on conte luna." does that pasta company still exist? haven't seen it on the shelves.

yep - http://www.conteluna.com/

i liked that line, too

and

"tough as nails and smooth as silk
i stay crispy, even in milk"

and

"i'm a froot loop , a loop garoo"

and

"bingo with my grammy dear
i put lemon in my beer"

and

"i prance about the buttercups
i have a dozen poodle pups"

and

"a crepe suzette with no regrets"

and

"but don't cross me
don't mess with my sister
i'm a redhot scorchin fever blister"

geez.... did I quote the whole thing?

this begs to be read aloud

matter of fact, i just did and i'm the only one in the room.
glad for that 'cause otherwise, somebody would think i'm nuts
chanting shit like that outloud

;)

you can eat your wheaties or your cheerios
do the dozens standing on a corner with a sandwich board
you can posture, you can testify
live on granola all day and binge at night
be as lightweight as a cornflake
as boring as shredded wheat
as inflated as Coco Puffs
but have you tried Captain Crunch?
