Bible Story

Post by Lightning Rod » June 16th, 2008, 11:25 pm

Satan and Judas were the same guy
one assumed and one betrayed
Gimmie a ticket to Get Semen EE

Satan thought he was larger than God
Judas knew that God had a price
thirty pieces of pride

but in both cases there was a hangup
one was hell and the other was a tree
Satan reigned and Judas dangled

But they were the same.

I love Biblical allusion in poetry. Especially when it deals with the so-called scourges of the Bible.

yes, God AllModular
the bible is a rich source of poetry
the symbols and the stories are universal
and almost everyone in Christendom knows them already
(plus god has a good sense of humor and he doesn't mind if you mess with His Word)
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

'Gimmie a ticket to Get Semen EE'
What? Is there a shortage?

Satan would be God, once.
Once is all U get, or so I was led to b'lieve.

I hadn't realized it was so critical,
you know, the future and all.
Okay, so now I (think) I do.
I'm still shopping (on occasion)
in a goddamned concrete box,
so what the hell could I possibly know?

Thirty pieces
a lot of dough?
or was it just enough

You got me thinking about the price.
Are you familiar with a psyc experiment about money and cognitive dissonance? It was published in Scientific American many moons ago.
The results seemed so counter intuitive.
