Nothing elucidates (illustrates?) how schizo our society is about sex as breast feeding. Day and night a woman's breasts are flashed on commercial after commercial on tv, in newspapers, magazines and internet ads. But no nipples please.

Another writer described California's recent attempt to pass a law permitting breastfeeding in public. The law was defeated at least in part due to policy makers objections that it would allow breastfeeding "irrespective of whether or not the nipple of the mother's breast is uncovered."

I am done
One more thing
A woman was thrown out of a Victoria's Secrete store somewhere for breast feeding in a dressing room.

Ah shit
what the hell is wrong with us

oh, izzy! how wonderful!

all the best to you and your beautiful precious daughter... may you grow towards another, and then along with each other, then apart, and back together again... and may love always be within and around you.

i wish you energy and confidence, and many many warm, wild and precious moments!

Thanx a million! she is already a joy. It started the moment she was born. And if my relationship with my mother is anything to go off of, that's more or less exactly how it'll be for Myla and me.

Thanx! It is a great time... excepting, of course, the constant sleep deprivation. But every great joy comes with a price and she's worth it!

oops, oh yeah, that. forgot to mention (or if by chance she slept and i slept, i'd wonder what was wrong)

my kids inevitably slept in our bed - on the wall side so that there couldn't be any accidental large adult rolling-onto scenarios. Sleeping with involved me starting to wear t-shirts to sleep to try to disguise the constant presence of nipple. they all loved to nurse and would all night long if i would.

But eventually they all learned to sleep. And i learned not to try any newfangled 'teaching them to sleep' methods.

But that's another story.
As long as you get to rest sometimes, k, and drink enough water you'll be okay.

Any questions you wanna raise at this point? Feel free!

Have you been getting outdoors much yet?

i wish I could find the url for an NPR sound bye about a movie theatre that has special show times for mothers with babies. One line from the interview that I remember was about a woman saying it was complete bedlam except for when a woman's breasts were on the screen. That got their attention and there was silence.

I signed your guest book on the Myla's picture show and now I am getting email for baby wipes. I will check it out and see what kind of freebies I might be eledgible on. Diapers too. I'll see if I can gift them to you.

I remember VOnnegut writing about a letter he got from his brother who had just become a father

"There is shit on everything."

Judih, wanna pm me some latching on tips. Introduction of pumped milk via the bottle has made it difficult for baby to get a good latch.

St, I've been outdoors a bunch. Went to the zoo yesterday, and was here and there most of the week b/c Nate's mom and stepfather are here with us. Thanx for signing the guestbook. I was wondering who that was, b/c I don't know any Jacks besides you. I've got a million of thos free baby wipe e-mails. In the end they send you like two in exchange for being hounded by a bunch of baby companies that you have no real interest in. My soam filter's workin overtime.
