we don't do Thanksgiving over here, at least not one special day. Every day i'm thankful i'm here and not food for the turkeys. But for those of you with a blessed long weekend - yay and be merry.

stilltru: let us know when you finish Husserl. that will be a momentous accomplishment, like readin' the whole bible. Of course, when the snake gets thru eating its tail, it has to eat its own head. now, THEN that's some freaky internal consciousness!

I am not that ambitious. I just don't have the momentum for momentous accomplisments no moe.

Around page one forty, my annotations in the margins stopped, also underling that all stopped, I got a bookmark at page 180 but the previous forty pages are pure as virgin snow, not a mark on them.


The short answer is thanks for the encouraging words ed, but I am not planing on finishing the last eighty pages or so.

But what if someone said "I can assure you I feel the visual image to be two inches behind the bridge of my nose"; -- what are we to answer him? Should we say that he is not speaking the truth, or that there cannot be such a feeling? What if he asks us "do you know all the feelings there are? How do you know there isn't such a feeling?"
What if the diviner tells us that when he holds the rod he feels that the water is five feet under the ground? or that he feels that a mixture of copper and gold is five feet under the ground? Suppose that to our doubts he answered: "You can estimate a length when you see it. Why shouldn't I have a different way of estimating it?"
