I don't think it's arrogant to observe that people who punch clocks aren't as well off as the people who's clocks they punch.

You could take care of your mortgage and daughter in a much grander manner if you had people working for you rather than visa versa.

Clay, I've worked for myself quite a few years in my life. I'm much better off with an employer than owning my own business.

Do you have people working for you? No, you don't. Are you more "well off" than me or the many other people who have jobs and work for an employer? No, you aren't.

Let's stop this conversation, please.

yes, you had your own business but you were the only employee
that means that you must have all the creativity and also do all the work

this is fine and honorable

but what I was talking about is something different

the times I have been the most successful, in terms of both money and satisfaction, are the times when I built an organization. It starts with the realization that you can't do everything yourself. Neither can anyone else. It's best to be part of a creative organization and cooperate with others in order to get maximum results.

I've always had a knack for encouraging others to work together. Everybody has something to give and they are not the same things. Take advantage of that help.

If you're cool with what you're doing for a living-- and no job is perfect of course, even for those who are their own boss-- it's a little debatable whether showing up for work, whether you own the clock or not, makes one a fool. Then again, I freely admit to being a fool at times. No one is infinitely wise or has all the answers, after all.

Congratulations on "building an organization" all of those many times. I know it made you quite wealthy and now you are able to live on the savings.

But people who work for an employer are not fools. Obviously when you said that, it struck at least one person as inappropriate and judgmental.

my first connection with something like reggae rythyms were some Lennon´s themes and the local grupo Sumo during the late eighties. No idea about jamaican reggae except Bob Marley later... I´ll try to find the names you mentioned somewhere to listen to them!!!!.
