Welcome back Mr. P!

I too have missed your input.

You do and always shall call a spade a spade I expect. I wouldn't call you a troll...maybe you are, you certainly do stir things up but I don't think that's a bad thing.

We are all adults and can handle ourselves, or at least should be able to. Unfortunately you have been known to cross the line with your abuses toward Doreen, specifically name calling, and that is not good, she owns this site and deserves respect. I do realize though that anger can and does rear it's ugly head. I just wish, and agree with Deb on this, that perhaps discussion as opposed to banning is the way to go. To ban is but to silence and silence accomplishes nothing in this instance.

Doreen is nothing if not fair. I daresay she has always given you the benefit of the doubt but I do think she is a bit of a mother hen around here...wants all to get along, well that's not always possible. We live to learn and learn from all and sundry.

Your writing is superb. Pushes the envelope. I hope you can manage to stay.

Doreen I just read your last post. You will always do what you think is best, I just wanted to share my opinion. But remember, as you well know, life can be very ugly, Mr. P does not pull punches and often says what many are thinking or at least already know and he is not afraid to bring it to the fore, that can be a good thing if it brings about discussion. Does he go overboard? I'm not so sure. The truth is out there, it's damned well ugly sometimes, but I'd rather see it and deal with it than let it fester. Does that make sense.

Anyway, just wanted to speak my say.

I really don't care what you choose to do, Miss DP, but it is this Niceness Quotient (and that sort of PCness in effect now all over the web, as it was at LK, and other "liberal" sites) that should offend anyone who values free expression and a non-censored Net. That's really the issue. I haven't insulted anyone; and people were posting here who you may have mistaken as "perezoso" (I have used the name, so have others). Using a skull as s-name/moniker is not a big deal. And my comment on the n-word thread is not nearly as offensive as many other comments--I did not even spell the word out. Better some edginess and fairly well-written angst than, well, overly benevolent and nearly dyslexic verbal confusion. But go ahead and do the J-Edgar.

Usually it is kids who troll. It's very unusual to find mature adults resorting to such childsplay.

Is it an art form? Nah. It's simply childish behavior for the sole purpose of disruption. Internet trolls continually scream for "free speech" and claim they are being "censored" when what's really happening, is they are behaving in a way which is disruptive, abusive, and insulting to members of the community. They try to get community members to argue with each other. They befriend some, ridicule others. Their sole purpose of being on a discussion board is to take center stage by disruption and downright unacceptable social behaviour.

I think it's great that you have such a fan base here! Seems your writings are enjoyed by a few and you have been missed by some members here. Good for you!

I suggest you start your own board and invite those who enjoy you so much.

PDNFTT doesn't work around here, I guess, because I respond to you, also, and some don't consider you a troll. I do, though. And we don't allow trolling on this board.

To make a post to say you never insulted anybody and to then state that others have used the name perezoso is absolutely ridiculous and you know it. If it weren't so sad, it would be funny.

I really like that. "Nearly dyslexic verbal confusion" ... I think I'll use that for a name for my artlog. Fits perfectly with my writing.

Who's trolling? Troll initially meant liar and disruptor. I'm not lying nor disrupting : I am arguing for a point: keep the Net free. Don't you think rights to free expression are as or more important than dealing with the occasional troubling message? I don't think you want free debate: you want control (and of course Niceness). Indeed if the writing of one S****T****** is any indication, you want idiocy (and Still Moe Howarding is not likely to attract too many literary peeps). It's your site: do what you want, right. But don't ever claim you are about the free expression of ideas or literature.

I never claimed I wanted free expression of all ideas. Yes, this is my site. Anybody can have one. As we've discussed before phpBB software is free. You can have a site too if you want.

You have disrupted this board in the past... bigtime. Repeatedly. To the point of giving me migraine headaches.

Your grand entrance thread (this one about trolling) is just an introduction of where you're going to go if you stay around. You will preach free expression of ideas then express your ideas of bigotry and hatred. You will post photos of people we all know and put donkey heads on them like a child drawing a mustache on a teacher. You will continue as you have always continued to use your excuse of wanting the Net to be a place of free exchange of ideas so that you can express thoughts and use words to belittle people and when you are told that is unacceptable social behavior and your posts are deleted, you will scream censorship.

This type of behavior is in keeping with the definition of internet trolling. Why would you even start a topic on it? Because you intend to follow through with doing it, just like you always have.

I am not for any type of government or authoritarian intervention or laws on the internet. I agree with that.

But I also agree that this is my site. And I have never and will never claim that I am for "free expression of ideas" if the ideas are disrespectful, bigotted, and rude. Those kind of ideas are not welcome here.

Nope, this is not a site for free expression if the expressions become costly.... costly for the respect of the members of this site.

In the same paragraph where you claim you are not a disruptor, you insult one of our member's writings, calling it "idiocy." Unbelievable. You are a very rude person.

I mean what I said. His current membership has lasted almost 9 months. That's a long time! He's been reasonably respectful to people throughout that time, with only an occasional minor lapse. lol...

And... last night I noticed you kicked up a buncha poems on the Creative Writing board and most all of your posts, you said something supportive to the author/poet. Thank you for that! People need supportive words!

Off work a bit early and reviewing poems posted a few years back. Uneven, yeah, but there were some strong writers posting here (for those who value "poesy" the Mingo's writing is pretty close to the Authentic. Reminds one of Brautigan. He posted some on LK as well. E-dog's talented but such a _______________ ing _____________. ).

Some most excellent spam artistes as well--and they seem to be keepin' on truckin' on towards the Spamheaven...............

You could start a S8 thread dedicated to Mister Mysterioso..........yes....................THE MINGO.

"Troll" was formerly used solely by geeks on the bulletin boards and newsgroups for disruptors. Now even the PCsters, CronyCrats, and marxistas are fond of chanting it (go to Kos--they have elaborate rules for "trolls"--sort of KGB like)--not only for disruptors, but for dissenters, libertarians, anarchists anyone not like "on the bus" (I think the bus driver's name was Karl) It's silly and colloquial but then not so more silly and colloquial than 95% of the garbage syntax found online........
