first time today in the Hospital de Niños de Rosario since I were a child having vaccines there... joining a mother and a student of mine and wondering about accidents... he was one of the stone throwers some months ago and now he just passed through a tree root in the school´s patio, fell and broke two bones of his arm... damn! , I´ve never seen a broken arm before, it´s quite impresionante ... it also made me wonder about human fragility ... they´ll have to give him anestesia in order to put the bones in their place again, I hope he doesn´t suffer too much after that :( and nature do her work well...!

doing zapping and listening to Mercosur presidents giving the welcome to Venezuela... I have to say that they made me want to believe in their words, somehow...! :)

:) yesterday I suddenly remembered the Mafalda´s tiras from the sixties warning -with dark beautiful humor- about the "yellow danger" while listening to a conferencist talking about how in my country each year we are trading the yanqui imperialism for the chinese imperialism... dam! , and we don´t even talk chinese...!!! lol: I´ll try to find later a link to the subject somewhere!

the broken arm boy had to pass for surgery to fix the bones but the mother told us that he has already no pain since thursday and the problem now is for him to stay quiet a little ... I can imagine it...! :) and that on wednesday he´ll be again in the class! She told me during the staying in the hospital that the situation reminded her when her brother was also twelve and had the two arms broken and she had to help him to eat... I ask her how happened that and she told me that her brother and also she were playing jumping from the roof of their house to a little sand mountain that was beside it.... I told her that I was somehow lucky that her son didn´t jump from the tree because if that would happen I would be in serious problems at the moment... she laughted and completely agreed!

I´ll be sharing photos took in Cuba in the travelogue thread later (they are still in the camera and the pen drive!) as soon I have free time for it -I also want to re-see them!!!! :D .

I chose Alexander Cockburn and human fraility.
Cockburn was a genius.
A couple of my favorite essays by him posted to by artbog the other day.

human frailty, yes we are such soft squishy things under the laws of physics and falling bodies.

I´ve got news from Jimbo, what made me happy!. He is writing fine & brave words to Obama and Jerusalem and friends. I hope Obama also read his well delivered-heartful-words-message in the bottle...! :)

Meanwhile St. Rose is hitting us again (each year the myth is renewed), summer yesterday until sunset and then the uhhh, uhhh of the wind with no pause and winter temperatures since now ... (no clear answers, Dylan, just cryptic uhh, uhh and clothes´s mess :?:)

And too much paper-writing and correcciones-work at school, I guess I need a secretary at this time of the year!

Every time I read a bit about Argentina I think about clipping it for you. Some of what I read is good, other I don't know. I read that Beunos Aires has established a pension for old writers. I liked that a lot. You could be right I don't know my memory so spotty these days. Uncle Sam got so much blood on our hands in both countries. I get them confused. We are nuts here, well maybe just my family is nuts, I got a niece who looks at Obama like he is Hitler. I love the kid, she is very bright, but she is a true believer. I think about what would Jesus do, or Buddha, she is quick to profess Christ but also quick to anger and get defensive. If I met Buddha on the road to Damascus and he was Jesus in disguise would I kill him?

I think about Buddha a lot differently these days since I read/heard Kerouac's Wake Up I been listening to it so I miss a lot of the jargon, the non English words.

I recommend it highly, it was written in 1955 but just released.

Good to hear from jimboloco, thank you.
I got an email from Clay, he sounds good to me, in a new crib he sounded like he was more comfortable. & Still on the mend.

I not recommend you the road to Damascus nowadays, neither the road to Aleppo ...

news also about L-rod! great!!!!! :D It´s good to know that our old s-8 friends are bien somewhere!

And I´m still writing for my superiors also today (really I don´t need that, neither the students but I have to do it ..... arrggghhhh!!!!!!!). It would be more easy to not have opinion about what I´m doing but I can´t do that at the moment, so it´s just uncomfortable and boring...! :?

Argentina is also a nut´s caso depending the angle of your vision (all countries have their own madness and amazing things altogether... I could experience that enough clear in Cuba!) ... and I don´t think Cristina is Hitler, don´t worry! ... Just sometimes difficult to digest, that´s all!!!!!

good to hear about you también! :)

The mad man said Christianity promises every thing but gives nothing
and he also said Buddhism promises nothing but gives everything.

I am hoping to break out of this inertia any day now.
Only thing I want to do is write.
Thanks for a chance to write a little something.

Is Christina a Mormon?

This is not so much a country anymore but we have become a circus.

Mountain Meadows Massacre Mormon true believers
I can't decide which would scare more a Mormon President or a Muslim.

Unquestioning obedience to religious dogma.

My favorite Allen Watts quote goes something like this
"I gave a friend one of my books about Zen and he said he did not understand a word of it, but it cheered him up immensely.

Fridays in my youth was the day the Sabbath began, still think about that sometimes, as I age I get closer to the past it seems.

I hope your week end goes well amiga

Iris Dement Let the mystery be
Everybody's wonderin' what and where they all came from.
Everybody's worryin' 'bout where they're gonna go when the whole thing's done.
But no one knows for certain and so it's all the same to me.
I think I'll just let the mystery be.

Some say once you're gone you're gone forever, and some say you're gonna come back.
Some say you rest in the arms of the Saviour if in sinful ways you lack.
Some say that they're comin' back in a garden, bunch of carrots and little sweet peas.
I think I'll just let the mystery be.

Everybody's wonderin' what and where they all came from.
Everybody's worryin' 'bout where they're gonna go when the whole thing's done.
But no one knows for certain and so it's all the same to me.
I think I'll just let the mystery be.

Instrumental break.

Some say they're goin' to a place called Glory and I ain't saying it ain't a fact.
But I've heard that I'm on the road to purgatory and I don't like the sound of that.
Well, I believe in love and I live my life accordingly.
But I choose to let the mystery be.

Everybody's wonderin' what and where they all came from.
Everybody's worryin' 'bout where they're gonna go when the whole thing's done.
But no one knows for certain and so it's all the same to me.
I think I'll just let the mystery be.
I think I'll just let the mystery be.
Zen books, zen words, zen things, zen nothings,
zen and the art of being

any books, any words, any things, thoughts, writing

zen reading
what is zen
what it is
nothing I know

always a little embarrassed to come back here and read the what I typed. Something mtmynd maybe said if I understood him zen
something about the moving finger having written moves on
