Interesting sidelight to pic of great grandfather above....my dad always had told me he had lost a leg in a train accident.....it wasn't till the other night that my sister found out the details, which are kinda interesting, being as how he died in the poor house in Chicago.

Poor old Walter G.
Never did get a break
Poor man's destiny in
the Good old US of A
Maybe a cosmic payback
for leaving his wife and
2 boys and heading for sea
There's always a reason
To blame is in season
Sometimes things just make
you run away, like hurt
So who's to say?

The lesson for old Walter was "watch where u step, it just might b the abyss."

Jam
Got a nice invite for dinner
Gonna go at 4
Ravens game afterwards
Been in a funk on this day
Since CJ went to hospice
4 years ago, time to leave it behind

Old days gone
Older days way gone
All them lives
I've led
All them loves
Lost in time
O the women I've loved
The turkeys they cooked
The people who sat at the
many tables
The football games
Wishbones broke
Memories like ether
Like dew
Like rocks of age
There, yet slipping away
All about the NOW!
That's the GOT.......

where is this love to be found

where is this love to be found?
for me it is found in
my literary angels
in disguise

Twenty-first. Night. Monday.
Silhouette of the capitol in darkness.
Some good-for-nothing -- who knows why--
made up the tale that love exists on earth.

People believe it, maybe from laziness
or boredom, and live accordingly:
they wait eagerly for meetings, fear parting,
and when they sing, they sing about love.

But the secret reveals itself to some,
and on them silence settles down...
I found this out by accident
and now it seems I'm sick all the time.

But listen, I am warning you
I'm living for the very last time.
Not as a swallow, nor a maple,
Not as a reed, nor as a star,
Not as spring water,
Nor as the toll of bells…
Will I return to trouble men
Nor will I vex their dreams again
With my insatiable moans.
