Your response seems unclear to me.
On the one hand you say that
"You laugh at the insults because they really are laughable.
Then, you point out the insults to me if I missed them and I'll put the posts in the Fireplace & Dumpster"
and on the other hand you say that,
"People need to respect each other or they need to post on someone else's website. Not mine."
These alternatives are in conflict. People AREN'T respecting each other and they remain on the website. Why?
You cannot police the entire site by yourself looking for insults 24 hours a day to dump them in the Fireplace. Even if you could, you'd be doctoring the symptom and not the illness. That is what's repeatedly been pointed out, here.
As for treating the insults as humor -- Why again? They are not humor. They are not meant to be treated as humor. They are vicious, derisive, insulting attacks directed at specific individuals.
I am not mistaken when I say that Perezoso deliberately seeks my posts out. The latest example is located under the "Syria" heading in culture.
You say that the people who are disrespectful need to leave, but they are NOT leaving and they are continuing to be disrespectful.
Then you say that the rest of us need to just laugh it off. Which one is it, Doreen? Which one do you want us to do?
There is a fourth alternative, too. I am quite content posting at Arcanum. It isn't as challenging as here, but there are no hecklers, and there's no ambivalence about what would happen if a heckler appeared. I like Studio Eight, but I do not like the "love me, love my dog" philosophy you seem to have adopted towards your troll.
My decision is made. This is no longer a pleasant place to be for me. When or if it does become a pleasant place again, I'll be happy to return.
