But I did not see any mass murders, I don't think a week goes by here where we don't have one here.

yeah, sad news ... I don´t know ... but if we had the ammount or armas your media citizen have it´s quite probably it could all be a neverending massacre here, who knows? ...

most of armas here are illegal-arms ... but in the barrio almost every house have some gun ...

some análisis from some side of the left, I founded helpeful to keep thinking what "happened" one week ago some parts of the following articles:

I just scanned the headlines, conspiracy behind the looting and vandalism to destabilize the government, robberies and police protection racketeers. Who would want to destabilize the government I wonder, the military planning another coup?

Is that where all that bad shit is going down in the southwest district? I am glad you will be out of there.

I did enjoy reading the article about Russell, my admirable amiga.

yesterday I got the results of a mammography I did two weeks ago and I adquired a new classification, now I´m a Bi-rads III so (if my greek doctor doesn´t say nothing different) I´ll have to make another one for control in six months ... damn!... (first reaction I was sad and cried and all that) I guess I´ll have to learn to not be explicit obssesive with that...! (but I already was...) :?

our president is a good way to change the topic, no doubt she has claws...!

divinely distracted

Buddha sits on his throne
The king of heaven
the patron saint of hell

Doing LSD and reading Nietzsche is about as divinely distracted as I have ever been,,,forty years later and I am still distracted by Jesus, Nietzsche and what they meant by eternal life and return.

I will obsess with you if you don't mend
I want to obsess you well

Not to change the subject but...
They asked Harry Truman what he was going to do when he got elected but the republican party controlled the congress. Harry said "I am going to give them hell"

I like Christina from what I have read, sounds like she gives them hell but in the nicest way :)

nothing to do with nothing, my mind wanders,
More nothing to do with nothing:
Mortality much on my mind, not so much death I fear anymore as being incapacitated. Been dipping into an old book by Ram Dass I think he wrote it back in the 1990's, it is the book he wrote after he had a pretty major stroke.
STILL HERE I think about Clay a lot, I write to him in my mind, I try to remember he is still here too.

I think about Kerouac drinking himself to death, somewhere I read that he wanted out of it, out of life that is, but he was too good a Catholic to suicide so he drank himself to death. A virtual suicide it seems to me. My life style is pretty suicidal these days. I been thinking about Jizo, not sure why I keep coming back to the patron saint of hell bit, is that an original thought on my part? Or did I read it somewhere. It seems to me that is what Buddha is for someone like me who still believes in Spinoza's G d. A patron saint. I hope that is not disrespectful of the Buddha. I get confused by all the names was Jizo a Buddha?

These are our good old days, listened to
"Si me voy antes que vos" 8)
very beautiful but I been having trouble translating it.
What does, {Si me voy antes que vos" , mean?
"Natural selection, as it has operated in human history, favors not only the clever but the murderous." Barbara Ehrenreich

"Si me voy antes que vos" : "If I leave before you do" and in the context of the song "if I die before you do(?)"... or something like that, I guess...

STILL HERE I think about Clay a lot, I write to him in my mind, I try to remember he is still here too. ... that feels good & human, sure he appreaciate it! ...
& I´ve never read a Ram Dass book but it sounds good a reading that encorauges yourself to be here now meawhile you are here now... :). I´m re-reading "Shambala, the sacred path of warrior" and looking what I had highlighted in it when I read it the first time, I still love that book!.

I get confused by all the names was Jizo a Buddha?

for whom? no idea ...!

Pain is not for free 8)
Thanks for the music.

For a long time I was obsessed with the idea of a good death, a warrior's death.

I been thinking about trying to make up to Dallas to see Clay. But I don't know how much company he wants.

don´t you sometimes woke up and wonder somehow how it would be that someone tell you that day that the martians in fact didn´t invaded the earth at last? ... some days and in relation with some facts I sometimes have that sort of Orson Welles moment... :?

I been thinking about trying to make up to Dallas to see Clay. But I don't know how much company he wants. .... if he´s too sedated and the illness is so advanced at the moment I guess, a silent atmosphere would help (he´s sure really busy at this moment and enough in companion).
I was with my mother (who died from breast cancer metástasis that ended in genaralizated bone and lung cáncer) the day when she died during all the afternoon (she died two hours later I left, while she was with my father after a transfusion, nearly 9 pm). I remember she hardly could talk (she had said good bye with recommendations to us already almost a week before while still at home), at midday she looked painful, suddenly her faced changed completely, she hold my hand and she asked me about my job at school, she smiled at turned absorted with some sort of inner -and sometimes sligth- outer conversation with her eyes closed that I didn´t understood. The room was shared with other woman that was recovering from an operation. I remember she spoke to me at some moment of the afternoon and my mother suddenly with a clear voice asked us to shut up ... (not please, of course... just a strong shut up!! ). I was somehow surprised for the sudden strenght and did silence until I left the place observing after that a very calm close eyed face again in her -again- sometimes absorted in a very concentrated murmuration that seemed to continue...
So, I learned that there are times to act and times to don´t act, times to talk and times to be silent in situations like that. And sometimes for the companions -for different reasons- it´s very hard to be silent and simply be there with the near death person...

I agree with Doreen that now we can help just being/staying where we are, celebrate L-rod´s ser & memory, celebrate also us and hope for the ease of pain. Well, at least is what I feel at the moment.

interesting phenomena, yes I have experienced it too
Das Unheimliche

What I regret is that I never got to meet Clay, this internet is so disembodied. I wish I got to hear him play live, shake his hand, even hug maybe. I have no touch of him to remember.

ahh... the unheimlich! I didn´t think it that way...

at this point it´s quite probably that most of us have hug each other more than once ...
I don´t feel internet it´s disembodied at all, maybe it allows a different kind of embodieation or whatever. But of course you could have met l-rod "face to face", texan...! It´s a big state but I guess it can be like driving from Santa Fe to Mendoza ... odd that you didn´t do it, but life is plenty of oddities sometimes...! :)
