I started in High School. I had a friend who smoke (Lucky Strikes, I think) and that was my first cigarette. I always liked the smell of tobacco, so I never thought it tasted that bad.

I'm a social smoker, at get togethers, parties, restaurants, and shows.

I smoke just enough not to get addicted.

In a period of self-destructive behavior, I once *tried* to become addicted to cigarettes. I never managed to do it.

I run out of cigarettes; a while later I'm sitting down reading a book and I think, "hm, a cigarette would be nice" (I love to smoke while reading), and then I remember that I ran out, and I say "dang" and get back to reading.

I've left off the Virginia Slims in the past halfyear. They don't taste good anymore. I think they altered the blend. These days it's Djarum Black (which I can't get within 30 miles), Kamel Red, Lucky Strike, and Sampoerna X-Tra (when I can't get Djarum Black).

My brother likes menthols. Echth. I catch him smoking Kools. He lights one and I say, "What are you, in prison?"
I never get tired of that joke.

I tried Pall-Malls not too long ago. Not for me, didn't like the taste. But I love the box. Man that's a great box. "In hoc signo vinces." "Wherever particular people congregate." That's just wonderful.
