in the land
of mutha fukkas
it's only a word,
no bitter pill
this morning,
awakened to
heed the call,
a week and
a day into runnin.........................

in the land of mootha fookkas
what is the word
that tells a child
why they get sick
and why their grandfather died
in the land of mootha fookkas
what is the word
that tells a child
why their cupboards are empty and
why their wishes don't come true
in the land of mootha fookkas
what is the word
that tells a child
why others are happy,
while their mommy cries
and daddy don't come home
...what's the word they-re looking for?

Now when the word was Jesus
------------ "And the price recorded twice"
There was comfort for a child, a woman's tears, and death had no pride..
Here among The Things of the New World,
Quetzalcóatl is over thrown.

what you write
we know
is what some believe
has been and was --
and what has been brings comfort for what was...
And for the present?
what is the word
they're looking for --
is there a Word
that exists,
in the here and now?
a gentle Word
a kind Word
a Word of solidarity
a Word of hope
a Word that manifests
for them what it is their soul desires
a Word for the hour, the day, the week --
a lifetime...

plenty of Words to go around for everyone
no famine of words only food

the word is raga
the ocean it flows
upon limitless
destination forever
follow the setting
sun,
ride the wave to
yonder shore,
more than a
follow that's
laying fallow in
the fields,
blow you gusty
winds,
cool us lonesome
breeze
raga blues infinite
filled with celtic thunder
lined with eastern wonder
from the delta
from where it
all began.......................

no hyperbily intended, no miss spelling too much regreted
every day is mom's day,
spent the morning dealing with her daughters pain, she so conlficted about going to the cemetary.
The last thing I wanted today was get in an automobile.
She really did not want to go she tells me that is to going to be too crowded She wanted some solitude, going to post pone mother's day for a week this year. We had some roses that wont last but maybe she will save the petals and sprinkle them on her grave.
Meanwhile she is tell the Bear that have to go today. He and I fianally agree on what is happening. We ain't going nowhere today.
having a sister is like all the benefits of a female friend and none of the ludicrous inconvienences of having a girlfriend.
and it is as if my mother is here too.
happy mother's day

she's wobbling
i'm close behind
the medication
mixed with a bit
of wine...no questioning
just the realization that
there is no right way
to deal with this one
there is no "you should"
there is only precious
time & the clock is ticking
louder and louder as
the days pass.................

barely sunday morning and smoke gets in my thighs
Nature boy his wife called me. Trying to remember how I wound up walking barefoot around 14th and U st NW that scorching summer day in 1974. What the hell happened to my shoes, did I loose them or give them away?
The sidewalks covered in brooken glass, the asphault getting soft.
Strange days, my mamma never told me of. Bus rides at two AM down MLK Blvd in Annacostia. Passing St Elizabeths and pay Jesus's fair cause the driver would not give him a free ride.
Trust yourself I say to myself
I am Buddha after all, a lamp to my own way, and a glowing cigarette.
