By the rivers of babble on.....

Post by hester_prynne » September 24th, 2007, 5:13 pm

I have the day off today and have been lollygagging around, and, like a fool, I've been watching the television news shows.
Here's my report:

Iranian Prez booed at Columbia U in NY and called names by the Columbia U Prez.
Is this all some sort of political circus, to try and get us to condone warring with Iran? Truthfully, I don't know that much about the Iranian President except that bad men here, are calling him a bad man.

Donald Trump suggests that as far Bush's part in the next election he should "go into a corner and hide".
Since when was Trump a spokesman for anything? He is rich and has funny hair. That's all I really know about him.

Autoworkers on strike.
Okay so this is good news. It's we the people back into to trying to take some laws written for us back.

Newt Gingrich might join in the race for US Prez.
If he can raise 30 million. A Newt Gingrich is some sort of reptile isn't it?

Bush comments on Hilary as the best democratic candidate.
Yes because he perceives it will position the republicans chances more favorably.
I think he is right about this and it fucking scares the hell outta me.

I wish there were more Leave it to Beaver reruns playing. Or Wonder years reruns. These days, those shows actually get me a little high.

If you get out an 8mm, we can take stock footage of all the little Wallies and the little Beaves and sing Joe Cockeresquely, and I'll play Fred Savage and we can bring someone on board to do narrative-flashbacks...and then we'll all put on high heels and vacuum and smoke cigars and think about talking with the boys. Three cheers for Jerry Mathers (sp?)...

And as for Iran and our electoral prospects...

well, let's also throw in some I Love Lucy and Cosby Show reruns.

Now that'd be a joint worth smokin'...looooooooooooooooooooooooooong draws.

Jerry Mathers was my bartender in college. No shit.

He didn't work in this hole-in-the-wall dive long, but it was him. No doubt about it. ;)

No comments on the news. Sorry. I'm taking a sabbatical. I can actually feel my headaches getting better.
