Bu and his cats

Post by revolutionrabbit » May 29th, 2010, 6:57 am

there is something dead
there is blood and sand
Picasso and agony
so tired like a broken record
and an old phonograph
plays Bix in the nude blue noon
a poem lays down with lions
the gypsy sleeps with Lorca
the old grave smiles like luck
poets must have this
even if there is no christ
there is a Cheshire cat
hiding behind the clock
here something like love
waits by the broken statue
next to the bleeding fountain
there are crusades and alphabets
there are red sports cars and fur
diamonds and dictionaries
daggers and circus shadows and painted
woman wave on the corner to the priest
the sun looks like a cherry in a cocktail
there are novels that sit on tables open
to the scene where the lovers part the sky
there have always been silent moments
like this where the lips part slightly
the last drop of wine spills from the wound
there are razor pages that slice the darkness
and a red flood of language gushes from time
the reason certain words were chosen to die
before the moon assassinates the lost feeling
left there on the edge of the road with a kiss
blown to the wayside as the book opens obscene
those flowers of knowledge blossom and wilt thou

I used to have a bunkie from Wales
I still miss the guy
Every other word out of his mouth
was "bloody" this or "bloody" that

Herr Rabbit

that was
bloody awesome

I got your novel a couple weeks ago
some novels lie unopened
unwrapped
for a rainy day I guess
how old was buc (7enventy something) when he died, smiled his Cheshire grin?

I am saving your book to open for a special occasian when I really need it.
You ever take a stress test? Talked to a flight surgeon from what he tells me the doctor tries to give you a heart attack for three hours.

I waiting to see if I am going to read it at home or in the hospital. I keep wimping out, I think I will open your novel while I am in the waiting room. I do my best reading in hospital waiting rooms.

just passing through
chit chatting

since Dennis Hopper died today, 'Gone Hallucinogen Freeway' could be read in the spirit of the movie the Trip that both he and Peter Fonda stared in, before they made Easy Rider.I smoked some tai stick with my friends that was sent by my friend that was in Vietnam at the time to go see Easy in L.A.We were so blitzed on the freeway on the way to the movie.

As far as Bukowski, I did sit near him for a few moments and felt his intense energy, back in the early 70's at a huge poetry reading.

no i never go to doctors.

Bu loved his cats like Burroughs.

the later-sixties were a singularity point in human evolution; the more I consider it, the more I'm convinced. And there will be aftershocks. .

yeah a peak in novelty, and of course for a 17 year old teen
that I was in 67, it was Sad Eyed Lady of the Low Lands,
and that long contemplative moment between Lsd trips.
The trips and the long pause between, all the rest seemed
like a dream. At least for those two, three years before the 70's.

In 70, is when i began reading poetry like my life depended on it.

I get buzz just thinking about being there.
