rainwater from another galaxy

Post by revolutionrabbit » February 22nd, 2011, 5:24 am

the poem is born from a bath of brew flowers
better the abandoned god radio in the river
of rainwater from another galaxy
they painted with a mix of magic colors
they who once arrived from the purple tube
who once went walking with a leaf hat
following the travels of a small magic carnival

a fun house of words opens its sideshow arms
on a hill outside of town where a zoo crashed
many ages later there were endless old ware houses
that seemed to move by themselves across the zones
filled with nameless objects from the future
worlds under leaves the size of the first ancients
who arrived in mother-ships from the other place
what they called the doors of zeros that shine
in the river of rainwater from another galaxy
better the abandoned god radio and the weeds of riddles

where the shoe people lived under a giant broken star
and puddles are clapping with thunder to the holy rockets
about to take off to the big zero point hole in the last sky
the reflection on the wet surface of the theater of eternity

they once made their words of stars and trees of lightning
they once spoke of cosmic raindrops of pure silence and measure
they followed the voices that lived in the jungle grass and the sun
they gathered the spider webs from the whispers
of their ancestors, now the zebra trains of happy ghosts go by
in the twilight, and the reflections on the tracks of silver beams

tell stories from the cave of windows holding sharp shadows to night
as the moving box cars go past the small carnival on the hill out
side of town where a zoo ship crashed from the doors of zeros
that shine from the rainwater of another galaxy
they wander like sleep bodies through the empty fields
and enter the strange buildings on the edge of nowhere
and marvel at the strange objects of every sort of meaning
and hold them up to the light from another galaxy, and for a moment
they sparkle and make infinite noises from radios made of dreams and
stones that come alive and offer glimpses to another time, another space

Wow. Where to begin. So much to hold onto here. Like a child in a candystore with free access. Love it.

"they once made their words of stars and trees of lightning
they once spoke of cosmic raindrops of pure silence and measure
they followed the voices that lived in the jungle grass and the sun"

( This has got to be inspired, yes sir.) 8) 8)

So I was really drawn into the sounds and the rhythms of the opening lines...and the images they proffered as possibilities in poetics...and I was reanchored in the quiet peacefulness of the final words...all of it radiating like sequin-flashes in between. It's great....and thanks.
