Betwixt the Worlds

Symbolic gestures, hints and warnings
Having little concerns for such displays
Perched high, well concealed by shadows
Beyond restful nights and scheduled days

Actions and reactions, ripples on the water
Pebbles and wishing coins tossed by fools
Unconcerned with a stream’s wild free flow
Having wishing wells and decorative pools

Betwixt the worlds, a grand place to wander
Never to be leased, yoked or prodded along
Able to soar aloft in sapphire hued dreams
Barred wing feathers and a short shrill song
