Several more customers than the usual few
Appointment already made, Sabrina sat at a table
His hard workweek worth this pleasure due
For two Benny Franklins she was willing and able
A third of the weekly pay he drew

Once a month, always on a Friday night
He braved the bridge tunnel and exited right
Another right turn onto Ocean View off of 4th Street
Passing a streetwalker standing beside a neon light
Halter top, hot pants, white pump shod feet
In the rear view mirror fading from sight

Sabrina was meeting him at Witt’s place
On the phone he requested black stockings and lace
First getting a room at the notorious McThrift Inn
Carefully hiding his stash, pistol and can of mace
Not the most dangerous setting he had ever been
Smoking a joint while thinking of her face

About a block down he left his car
Parked back at the motel not all that far
Drunk driving at Ocean View could land him in jail
Passing other drinking holes close to Witt’s bar
And another streetwalker peddling some tail
Less costly than his motel room star

Offering all night sessions, high in demand
Sabrina motioned him over with a wave of her hand
After the shooing away two low ranking sailor boys
Cut off jeans, crossed legs, well turned and tanned
Locked in her jeep a few costumes and toys
Next door was hard booze and a band

At the Drifter’s lounge, a long slow dance
She was rather convincing when feigning romance
A zombie in a tall frosted glass, her favorite drink
Back at Witt’s place he had paid her in advance
For this blissful bawdy night beyond the brink
Getting his money’s worth if given a chance

Making such appointments several times before
Booze, cocaine, grass and a call girl behind a locked door
Upon the bed, motel dresser and worn carpet they would frolic
Having earlier prearranged all of what he would have in store
Weekday worker, weekend warrior and binge alcoholic
Too young to employ the services of a whore

After a drink and dance they were in her jeep
He saw a sailor on the asphalt laying in a drunken heap
Swiftly pulling in and parking at the McThrift Inn
He wondered if Sabrina thought him to be a creep
During these excursions at the beachfront of sin
Her Bolivian snow would stave off sleep

Awakening late in the morning, arise, stumble and fall
Most of that blissful bawdy night he had seen and done it all
Some aspirin along with a big slug of vodka for his painful head
Somewhat hung over and almost broke he felt rather small
Looking down at the sleeping woman in a motel bed
Next month he would give her another call
