no longer having the strength to hold office
the papacy has declared the virtues of moving
on to other more healthy alternatives
like reading and bathing and having
great conversations over an espresso

if it is we still drink coffee

the almost poet not well enough read
or not well enough to read
has resigned his position of hyperbole
metaphor analogies and sentence structure

to re-instate the normative functioning
of other more inclusive and peaceful
parlances such as parlour games
on the internet and web pages indulging
in a fanaticism of exaggeration
and an esteemed elegant alliterative awakening
to other more colourful pursuits like
playing with a graphics tablet

or proving liability against agencies of the government
whichever comes first or

whichever proves more indulgent to include
why anyone would co-operate with conspiracies

or confederacies for that matter

which is a historical notation of certain and specific
nations giving birth

and what was born unto us but the language of bibical
beginnings and knowing each other in light
of marrying the history of a naming in the linguistic
languishing morning - as question ?

hiding behind the pseudonyms of sort
to sort themselves out of an altogether guilt
preoccupation or wild fantasy about ...

to see the future in the calling of our children
moon unit or star gazer or stands by a river waiting

or maybe in my retirement and resignation i should
call myself a gender neutral - neutral position
political

to represent the metaphor as the pursuit of oneself
or the direction that one is headed

i should then say something to the effect

that the name i call my rock and roll band

to be something like a fraternity that isn't chauvinistic
or a club that hasn't any restrictions or hidden vices
or a unit that has no merit medals or even honour

to solicit attention through the use of words
and naming

even in this 'alleged' poem ... in the resignation of oneself
