the boys next door

Post by saw » March 3rd, 2015, 11:05 am

the ice and snow
exhilaration to children
tired of hauling their book bags and lunches
over treacherous sidewalks
to make the trek to school, education can wait today

laughter sings
behind the brick wall
elation
cannot be silenced
by red masonry blocks and gray mortar

joy cannot be contained
by plaster and many coats of paint, no...
there are three brothers, three amigos
divided from me only by this wall we share,
we cannot see each other or bump fists today

but young boy's voices
can permeate solid barriers
like water oozing from a crumbling dam
their lyrical interaction, my spirited neighbors
they soothe my meditation, they enter my heart

give me hope for the future of life on this planet
Taylor, Tyler, Tavon ....
the Halloween before last I was running
into their burning home to get them out,
their tears forever etched in my mind

as they watched all of their things vanish in flames,
and I hated the six months they were gone,
as workmen banged and sawed , restored
the ceilings and interior walls, the windows, their bedroom doors.....
today there is only playful laughter ....peace
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

beautiful
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---

rock solid with all the doors open - you're a rank sentimentalist, saw, and a damn good one too ! 8) 8) THX!
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.
