In The Sun

Post by leafsailors ghost » February 24th, 2016, 8:48 am

She said it was not sadness
that called her name out softly in the night
it was not regret that took the days to task
having no reward in the sundown
the empty hours lost to the ticking of the clock
winding down the years
perhaps the old photo, faded in its frame, behind the glass
sitting to long at the window
like a faded shadow, now a slippery memory
whispered of something almost forgotten years ago
who was that child then beside the sea
the waves slide up the beach
she runs laughing after them as they retreat
the sea breeze comes in the window
caressing the sunny curtain
the family gathers laughter at the table
she sees it all again
behind those faded eyes
who is that child in the sun

nice remembrance.....a retrospect of a life in pictures that start the wheels to turn....nothing wrong with reminiscing....it can be sad, it can even be painful at times....but shouldn't be ignored
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
