Fingernails

Post by theirishsea » July 9th, 2019, 5:09 pm

Fingernails?
Emphasize the nails
Bloody hands, bloody ankles
Anyplace scratched became cut
Don’t gouge out your own eyes
Even if they see nothing but ghosts
And absences
The usual hardly noticeable green
Of weeds
The sky reflected in day old puddles
The coffee shop
Where you sat
Talked things out
What things?
Not much of importance
Apparently
Apparent
The familiarity of appearances
The opaque eyes
That were turned into your own
Singular
Soul
Not a dance of butterflies surely
Breath into an old clarinet
Dust coming out of the horn
Your friend?
Abandon
Don’t revise the story
Nothing can be patched up
A conversation of one
Has little interest
Except to flies
That light on open eyes
Don’t bother retelling the story
It is a coat left on the back of a chair
A gated stair
Locked door
So far away
Happiness
The Irish Sea Is Always In Turmoil, Even When Calm.

ah the sound of the heart expanding well put,,, lovely
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---
