Yes.
But above all we as a nation must keep in mind the terrible cost borne by President Trump

Tя☭mp wants to see the economy open up by Easter. He wants to see churches full of people on Easter Sunday. I visualize churches full of Tя☭mp fans and for once I agree with him. I am a sick puppy with a macabre sense of humor

Sorry if I'm not taking this as well as I could/should. At the risk of being too "either-or" about it ... the angel on one shoulder (and the governor) tells me to stay home, sit this out for awhile; an unexpected "windfall" opportunity to contemplate, create, reflect ... The devil on the other shoulder keeps telling me to call myself "essential" and keep toiling and grinding away; don't let the gears of hypercapitalism stop turning for even a single moment! ...

choose life
let the Fed
figure it all out
they be printin' money
endlessly
there is no wealth
without workers
we create wealth
and the 1% keeps it
now it's time to let
greenbacks rain down
we talkin' trillions and trillions
and a trillion is a thousand billion
it was all fake from day one
they screamed at Bernie
" How you gonna pay for that Green New Deal
and how the hell you gonna pay for Medicare for All !!!?"
Now we see,.....no problem at all
we got money all over the damn place
they laughed Andrew Yang off the debate stage
when he wanted to give every American a $1000
Now they're all gettin' $1200
the game is rigged
always been rigged
and the curtain was just pulled back
by Toto....and we can see the naked king
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

Update version for the 1935 novel
Tя☭mp
It Can't Happen Here

He was an actor of genius. There was no more overwhelming actor on the stage, in the motion pictures, nor even in the pulpit. He would whirl arms, bang tables, glare from mad eyes, vomit Biblical wrath from a gaping mouth; but he would also coo like a nursing mother, beseech like an aching lover, and in between tricks would coldly and almost contemptuously jab his crowds with figures and facts—figures and facts that were inescapable even when, as often happened, they were entirely incorrect.”

That sounds like TV.
Accuracy don't matter.
TV died decades ago.

Sorry to dredge this one up again, but at the two month mark I'm wondering if I took enough advantage of this great opportunity to just stop, for godssake JUST STOP for one damn precious moment instead of continuing to endlessly, mindlessly toil forever and a day at my so-called, so-framed "essential job."

Man I don't know.

Good piece, Steve! Thoughtful.

The U.S.has got the biggest number of monies to do with as they choose. Where is the logic in that? As long as DJT and his Oligarchy control those numbers, "We the People" and "We the World" apparently will not get any without the Money Lords okay.'? Is an American revolution brewing in the near future? IMO it largely depends on the election outcome. We mustn't forget DJT made it very clear when he said "I can do whatever I want!" after his Impeachment Folly... and we can bet he will try. (unless COVID19 refuses his demand)

Money seems fair.
Money is religion.
Money is worth.
Without it you're
invisible, extinct.
Seems fair.

income inequality is contrived
born in the omnipotent greed of a few
to the detriment of oh so many
it's become an obsession for a select few
to collect all the marbles despite the suffering
that you can see clearly from the ivory towers
in the end it's sadistic, has nothing to do with
being "successful", and everything to do with
merely inflicting more pain in some weird biblical fashion
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
