kids

I remember very well the fears that I had when I was kid (some of them maybe thanks the family folklore recited year by year, others I don´t know...). Some of the most famous: Papá Noel, Los Reyes Magos, clowns, títeres, dark skin men with moustaches, church statues, dogs, storms... I remembered all these when today my nephew (3 years old in october) asked me before he entered to the apartment if I was hidden "the two things" (the two things now are an african mask and a buddha statue; before that they were the cactus). I wonder what objects will be the next ones.

my grandmother still to this day has indonesian masks in her house, and since childhood have kind of given me and my sister the willies...she has a lot of indonesian stuff, also another thing that i was and still don't like and am kind of afraid of in her house is the defly silence. everything is still and silent except a small clock ticking, drives me nuts since i'm use to noises.

too many indonesian masks/paintings for my grandmother to hind from us.
Blah!
