Sunday Stream (82) ~ Reality of Truth

Post by mtmynd » June 18th, 2006, 11:36 am

<center>Reality of Truth
or
Truth of Reality?</center>

Let me offer a thought - what is between matter? Does not the space between matter constitute reality? This void that suspends all reality, in the universal view, has to be a part of reality for without it, matter would be unable to exist. But this emptiness between matter cannot be grasped as an object, it cannot be weighed and measured for size, but we know it's there... silently, seemingly holding all matter from becoming one enormous mass. It is real. But is this 'realness' really considered to be real by most? We (normally) assume reality is matter-based, do we not?

Taking this train of thought a bit further - thought itself, going with the reality is the only real thing, is an immeasurable state in and of itself. Nobody has yet been able to isolate thought and describe thought without the primary aid of thought. We can only see thoughts, hear thoughts and some can even feel thoughts... (note the plurality of thought used here). But the singular phenomenon of thought as non-material substance reveals, if you will, reality (matter) within the mind. An analogy might be this infinite space I mentioned earlier (thought) giving the universe (matter) reality to exist (Be).

The 'deeper' science has revealed within the microcosmic level of existence an atomic and sub-atomic reality, which when seriously considered, proves that reality is much more than our presupposed sense of reality actually is, i.e., our flesh is an atomic structure, as is our physical (real) parts, our bones, even our planet that we live upon... all in the micro sub-atomic level are an 'assembly' of neutrons, protons, ons and ons... add the current 'string theory' being part of this sub-atomic. All of this is real, even the string theory becomes real as a theory at this point.

So if we accept that even theories are real, as we accept mathematical equations themselves are real, we needn't even know whether any theories or equations are true, and that is what any seeker of knowledge is ultimately faced with - Know Truth. This is when reality becomes not necessarily truth, but sometimes obstacles in understanding (knowing) what this pinnacle of the search is actually about - the knowing the truth of all, not only reality... a seemingly dead-end path only to those that depend solely upon reality (matter) to comprend the 'greater mysteries' we yearn to know.

Reality is matter/energy based... subject to duality. The duality of life is our reality. Doubt, questioning, understanding, even confusion are all reality, but do all of these conditions invite Truth into our lives? Truth is an absolute that lies beyond reality. Truth is not a duality of reality/unreality, but it is the conclusion of knowing and accepting duality as one... not just matter but the space that dominates in between all matter, from where it all originated.

thru the hubble eye
yet one more vision -
matter surrounded by
space
holding in its
quietude
all that we can
ever hope to view as
reality
within the
Greater Mystery
of
Infinite Truth
where
All
began

To be an effective musician, especially a soloist, you must understand that the space between notes is just as important as the notes themselves.

And the beat goes on. Nice one Cec.

As a practitioner of shamatha meditation I am beginning to realize that the space between thoughts is both real and measurable, not just for the length of time between them but also for the realization of emptiness that occurs within........

"Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing." (E. A. Poe, The Raven)

I been wondering about empty spaces. Are they really empty? I am not talkng about the space between my ears here. We know that is empty for sure. It is hard to keep up with all the latest science mythology. Now we know the universe is made up of mostly "dark matter" a a paralell shadow universe. And Black holes eat stars and give birth to new stars.

I am the guy Mark Twain warned you about

"There is something fascinating about science. One gets such wholesale returns of conjecture out of such a trifling investment of fact." (Mark Twain)

Thank you again Cecil, a beautiful stream made me feel care free again. For a little while I was that nine year old astronomer I used to be

Happy father's day old friends

EDIT

I got the link wrong on this one

Code: Select all

Dark energy is hardly science fiction, although no less intriguing and full of mystery for being real science.

"The universe is made mostly of dark matter and dark energy," says Saul Perlmutter, leader of the Supernova Cosmology Project headquartered at Berkeley Lab, "and we don't know what either of them is." He credits University of Chicago cosmologist Michael Turner with coining the phrase "dark energy" in an article they wrote together with Martin White of the University of Illinois for Physical Review Letters

I ramble little if you don't mind.

I remember how I used to read your streams MT, with an arguementitive mind set. An intellectual pissing contest.

sunday streams are silent kind of place for me these days. Took me a while to leave my ego out of it, and yours too.
