Crossroads

Crossroads.
Red ex's on an octagon.
Eight sides,
three ways to go.
Four if you count
going back.
A myriad of hunches,
one pick,
stick with,
until reason appears,
and then,
after a quick spin,
it's crossroads
again.

I tend to like to pick
going back.

(It is my favorite option:
the Devil I
no better
than the devils I don't)

Maybe that's why
I
never wear out the souls
of my shoes:

I
don't
go
anywhere.
