The Bang, Yin 'n Yang
The Bang, Yin 'n Yang
The universe blew out.
All the galaxies and broken rock
are hurtling out at terrible speed.
The intergalactic black blackens.
Clutch onto something, quick.
The universe is expanding.
What is it expanding into?
Will it keep on expanding?
Is it all finite or infinite?
Which is harder to grasp?
Did you know,
the critical density of the universe
is something like five hydrogen atoms per meter?
Anything less and it will blow out.
Anything more and it re-implodes.

I remember reading that there is a certain average density--an actual number-- beyond which there would be "too much gravity" in the universe to allow expansion forever without eventual slowdown and reversal, and I remember thinking, "you're shitting me, right?"
It was something times ten to the -23 power g/cubic meter, as I recall...

I have to accept it on blind faith since I can't do the math
Hard to keep up with the latest science mythology.
But I am sure it is not a myth
for those that can do the math
It would not surprise me if it were true.
Except it seems like the blind leading the blind
since so much of the universe is undetectable to us.
please pardon ramble
Gravity has been tugging relentlessly on all the mass of the universe ever ..... Compute the critical density in terms of hydrogen atoms per cubic meter. ...

From pi bonding to
To the density of ice
Everything just right for life
Intelligent design seams so reasonable
