calling on an old friend

Post by saw » December 26th, 2011, 12:18 pm

in that ivory tower
that poses as my mind
Professor Reason
smacked his spiked pointer
on my calloused head

a river of self contained
sweetness ran
in streams of awareness
from my ice cold eyes
hesitating on my cheeks

like an unwelcome guest
for a pity-fuck photo-op,
then dripped down
like lost minor chords,
splat, splat, splat, splat

on a worn out pair of shoes
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

I wish I was a Lutheran sometimes.

Nice poem, thank you.

Interesting poem but that word interesting doesn't get at the emotion conveyed. The cause of the emotion is still a mystery to me as a reader though the description of the emotion comes thru.
The Irish Sea Is Always In Turmoil, Even When Calm.
