your voice like springtime

Post by Perdida » November 14th, 2008, 6:30 pm

your voice like springtime
announces its arrival
carried to me by the dawn -
deliberately

a bird in song, i hear it
soaring with wings
calculated

a voyage sun-up
a bonfire full and happening
a watchfulness, a spread of
kisses, and the stretch of fingers
across the clock-face

you gather me, like a fallen thing

and through your lips
your mouth
that is full of flowers
and petal-waves -

i let fall the winter.

I'm making a list of my favorite intimate yummy words and I've just added spread and stretch and deliberatly...i have no idea what will happen to this list bu I feel a little like David Bowie, he use to collect favorite words and put them together we'll see.

I got a question for you personally, Um I have a bit of a problem with writters block, all the time...i have a hard time starting, I"m a better editor, working on a bit of a buzz so maybe it'll help me out tonight but probably not...thus the question. Seems to me, correct me if i'm wrong that you write and its not like stream o thought, like how i write so what do you do to get started?

I"d be interested to know, anyone else have a response i'm interested in hearing them too.

I liked the poem, consious again, got to learn to do that.

for me, it's like an actor digs into his experience in order to understand his character. i try to access someting that has had an emotional effect upon me - i try to get into that feeling and memory and see where it leads. when i drift into that state of awareness, the poetry is there waiting to be written.

hell, i almost forgot to mention the poem - it has vibrancy - young and alive. always enjoy your work, perdida.

Hey, thank you for your replies Constantine and K&D...

well i don't sit there and say to myself, "i'm going to write a poem now" Usually what happens ( during my day to day living) is a phrase, a word, or something i hear, see, and feel comes to me unexpectedly and that triggers my thoughts and yeah i feel a poem coming. So if it is a phrase i write it down, and sometimes i know exactly where it is going to go or i might have to look at it for a while, just depends. But i don;t say to myself "today i will write a poem" Just in the past few months i've been writing some but for the last year or so i've had writers block... probaby due to too much going on in my life, or, wait a minute..is that, not enough, hmmmm *grins*

Thanks again :D

ahhh...love & springtime...it's like graham crackers and cream cheese. it just goes together. i like that the voice is announcing itself and i like that it spreads kisses, stretches fingers and gathers you. "you gather me like a fallen thing"...that is my new favorite phrase of the month. love it.
