trip pics
i took a million pictures on my trip last month. here are just a few that i've used in my blog so far. the rest isn't downloaded to my online photo album yet...will share more later.

i thought it tradition to take another "classic" car pic and edited this photo a bit for dramatic effect.

"under the flower" i have no clue what this flower is called. i took the picture in goldengate park in San Francisco. The huge blooms hang with their open heads facing the ground (almost like hats). i thought it would be a cool pic to take a photograph from beneath.

the writing on the beach sand is not a new idea. but i couldn't resist anyway. so "hello"
<a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/SK ... P0MY"><img src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_GujzL1vL7vE/SP4Fm ... 6.JPG"></a>
another beach photo taken in San Francisco. both these are very saturated. i didn't edit them. the sun was going down when i took them and the angle was tricky. i like the silhouettes and the fact that only the umbrella has color in the picture
<a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/J- ... P0MY"><img src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_GujzL1vL7vE/SO5Pi ... 5.JPG"></a>
this picture was taken in an antique mall. i should have probably moved the camara slightly down, but again, i was literally on the run to catch up with the rest of the group who had no patience for aspiring photographers. heh.

"sexy nurse"...or maybe waitress. mannequins are my new favoite subject to photograph. this one i found at a tourist store on Route 66
as usual, click on images if you wish to enlarge.

thank you jacob. yes, still frame has it's own charm. i'm still trying to grasp it myself. it's all about noticing a still frame inside the video of life and timing. of course there's technical aspects too like lighting, alignment, etc. but right now i'm just trying to notice & time and sometimes i stumble on a beaut.
have fun exploring...

two really impressed me : flower in golden gate. i'm a sucker for a good flower shot.. their lives are so brief. and #5, in an antique store... i've stolen some shots in stores and they have become special to me for some reason i haven't yet found.. and this one gave me the same feeling... store displays, kinda like flowers, are temporal in their 'lives' and this one is so unique and probably no longer there.
nice series, mj... shoot on!
