Day Four

Let there be polystyrene

Sticky notes

And Plutonium

God made the world in six days

But man has been busy too.

Jack, I posted something earlier here in reply to your above post that I have since moved to Mingo's Lingo. I got caught up in the memory of the event I was writing you about that I forgot I was here instead of Ming's Lingo. Discovered my mistake after I posted, anyways if ya want to read it it's over in my log.

Hell of a night
last night
took me a couple of hours to fall asleep
yes it was hell
and it was all in my head

No monsters from the Id
Just one small brown dog

I read your post mingo

It made me think about those men that kill with a word .

I have used your picture as my desktop. Very spooky and beautiful thanks again.

I hope you do some banners in the rotatation, I think they have a big effect on the energy here . That image at the top of the page we are all looking at as we read and write here. Almost subliminal. Whether we notice or not.

Yabyum's mountain sunrise today

Not a koan probably
There be three things which are too wonderful for me, yea, four which I know not:
“Where is that man who has forgotten words that I may have a word with him?”

I had to go looking for your quote - I knew it was in Proverbs but couldn't remember just where, found it just a minute ago & read both verses. You could use the part you quoted as koan, I think. Fierce. Ten thousand buddhas would fall at a single swing of a koan like that.

Been thinking 'bout doing a couple of pixel paintings for the banners, I've got the weekend off here so may mess around with the idea. I'm glad you like the one I did for ya. Just saw a couple of guys walk into the neighbor's woods all outfitted for deer hunting. Deer season here in the great state of Yew Nork. The crack of deer rifles has been going on since just before Thanksgiving. I read once there was a time in the history of the northeast that deerhides were used as currency and there was a set amount that a buckskin was worth. It is from that we get the term "buck" for a dollar bill. I don't hunt anymore, its been decades. But I do like to know what animals share the territory with me and winter's the best time to determine that. Snow cover is a giant carbon paper. Nothing passes across it don't leave the mark of its passing. I love tracking. It's amazing the intimate details of a creature's life can be read from its tracks. One of my grandfather's friends opened up this particular part of knowledge to me when I was eleven years old & I have to the best of my ability tried to fill up on my own with increasing knowledge and realizations & added to what was first shown to me.

THanks for the banners, sets the mood for me. I am six fathoms deep and sinking.

I have never hunted, a city boy all my life. The only tracking I have ever done was on those mountain passes out west in winter. Such a lonely feeling to be following a set of tracks going up the mountain and then they disapear and you are running on virgin snow with a strong sense of wrongness, as if you know that your fear has tricked you into danger because you tried to deny it.

Day five
Color TV
Hula Hoops
Cluster Bombs

G-d proposes and man disposes.
So my old friend the homeboy tells me
He is living ever momment he can
And I ain't wasting time no more either
No sir
Am I too old to die young yet?

"Am I too old to die young yet?"

Death doesn't pick and choose amongst age... it's too brutally honest to do that. Death simply stops the life in the living whenever their/its time is done.

I was thinking about this Moe Bandy song Cecil

Too Old To Die Young
Verse 1
C F C
If life is like a candle bright
G
Death must be the wind
C F
You can close your window tight
C G C
And it still comes blowing in
F C
So I will climb the highest hill
G
To watch the rising sun
C F
And pray that I don't feel that chill
C G C
'Till I'm too old to die young

Chorus
F C
Let me watch my children grow
G
To see what they become
C F
Oh Lord don't let that cold wind blow
C G C
'Till I'm too old to die young

Verse 2

Now I have had some dear sweet friends
I thought would never die
Now all that is left of them
Is the tear drops in my eye
If I could have one wish today
And know it would be done
I would say every one can stay
'Till they're too old to die young

Chorus
