Some of you who have been on Studio8 for a while might remember that in THE ADVENTURES OF HERMAN UTIX, ( appearing in these pages two years ago) I based my story somewhat on one of my favorite movies, Robert Wise's 1951 sci-fi classic, THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL, which remains one of the best sf movies ever made.
Also, you might remember that in 2005-06, I also have the "errorists" torturing one of my characters by making him listen to a tape of Keanu Reeves reading Tennyson with "an "English" accent" . . .

Keanu Reeves stars in a re-make of THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL, which contains, according to many reviewers, a plethora of unintentional laughs:

though I never tire of the original TDTESS, I watched the remake last night and thought it was a colossal bore...it actually put me to sleep-the FX are the only thing found acceptable in that film-the writing and the acting sucks major you know what.
Also, watched Frost/Nixon and "Milk" and these are two excellent motion pictures...Frank Langella's performance as Nixon is one for the books.
