New Year and The Purpose of Life

Post by Lightning Rod » December 31st, 2008, 9:50 pm

I've boiled it down
the purpose of life
is either fun or learning
not sure which
or if there is a difference
between the two

but in these tough times
here is my musical New Years greeting
to all of you

We Can Make It

Fun, or learning.
Seem the same, at least
if the price is right.

Fun and learning, yes.

But it's also about pain. Suffering and pain. Which are not fun. And often which don't teach us anything at all except it hurts.

(sorry for the repeat comment on this poem from another site but it's so true, I felt compelled to say it again).

Optimism is a good thing. I try to be optimistic myself for the most part. But the truth is, there's a lotta shitty stuff going on and our lives also consist of sorrow, not only joy, and dealing with all that shitty stuff. If we can be optimistic despite it all, we're doing well. Goof for you.
