False memory and The Last Tango In Paris

Post by one of those jerks » January 8th, 2009, 10:25 am

I watched that movie again last week. I saw it once before in 1972.

So for 37 years I have remembered another movie almost. I got the ending so wrong in my memory.

Makes me question all my memories.

a hell of a movie. i've seen it twice - first time when it was new and maybe 10-15 years ago as a reminder. was there an ending? i don't remember. i just was there for the experience.

did you ever see dead man?

I was locked up with a guy named Brian
he was the closest thing that I had for a friend in the institution
he had tied a coke dealer up on a chair and blown his brains out
then he rolled the body up in his living room rug and dumped it....nice guy

we used to walk in the evenings around the jogging track and talk
he was a film buff with time on his hands so he made a top 100 list of his favorite films. The first on the list was Last Tango.

I never understood that.

I remembered the ending all wrong; I forgot who clipped whose fingernails. And I did not remember her killing him.

I don't know either Clay.

Maybe it was the sex scenes.

Silent woman was never a back sit driver in our lovemaking. But she would take me to the movies she wanted to see. .

Our love affair blossomed between two movies.

The Trip and Last Tango in Paris.

Later we would reenact the movie, but not a word was spoken.

We even did the acid
it is a hell of an aphrodisiac,
She is twice the man I am.

Maria Schneider was the actress. IMDB has her doing over 50 movies, the latest (2008) 'Cliente'.
