Pound them keys, Jack Looking, pound 'em for all their worth. Down off the plateau for me - we didn't accomplish much up there, stymied at almost every turn - just bad juju went back in there with us and we could not shake it - but I think some good might come of it. Cousin Clayton has a notion to redo the logging camp this summer so he can concentrate on getting the trees outta the woods and make some money in the seasons to come. Got a feeling I'll be spending some time thru the summer givin' a hand at the project. Ya know, even with all the disasters we had I came down outta there feeling a bit different. Nothing earthshaking but like I left a piece or two of worn out skin that no longer fit back up there in the trees. Invisible skin, the kind that grows around your insides. Don't know how to put it into words or even if there are any words for it, just something's a little bit different somehow.
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

So many dots
Blood drops

the majority of life dies peacefully
it's only the judge that sees
violence thru the peace that prevails

i believe it's a buddhist saying -
everything is perfect as it is

despair precedes depression

there's nobody to blame but our mind
running rampant as if it was a must
the feral mutt that forces calm into chaos

religions aren't worth a tinker's damn if
they can't help followers to find their Self

philosophies aren't worth giving a thought
if they don't answer our bigger questions

good to see you back, truck.

[enough]

"despair precedes depression"

wow just came off a run again at depressin and despair

came back, came thru it
like i ain't no novice at it
so this tyme
i had ultimate defeating thoughts
and was able to shake it off

despair is not something that i will accept
fuck despair

i made a ist of things to do
inside the house
outside
work related
personal

and got started

straightened out a corner of the closet
swept leaves (florida is perennial)
took the mower to the shop
bought a leaf blower
designs on finding a wood chipper, cheap
bought more silicone sealant for the roof
fixing the drain plug in bathroom sink
fixing the door handle in bathroom closet
did 4 on line courses (short) for annual competencies, nursing at st joe's
wrote a letter to the nation supporting israel
encouraged my wife to get a new pair of glasses and she did
repairs on the dishwasher
bought a dolly, wheeled the old stove out to the alleyway
raked up broken glass in alley
finished a skills fair for work
called my mom
emailed my uncle
cleaned the carpet
did tai chi
saved inaugeration issues of local paper (st pete) for black ladiies at work
in tampa which has a lousey paper
took a mental health day off
went back to work when i turned the corner
laughed at a funny sound work lady made
felt professional compassion for souls sad with poor health
and lonesome too
no despair is not something i can do

i am sure if i despaired
i would not do it very well
but hey
i depend on me

it's good to hear you're back jimbo... i never knew you were gone.

your familia needs you and you know that... as much as you need them. that is now.

the past can never be the past if you don't let it go... now.

take care. please.

oh hey
i wear the past like a cloak to keep me warm
thanks
el paso
capstone to my day

have a patient
jehova's witness (new convert)
decided he wants to live
after a suicidal emanation of despair
crossed the fence
so will take blood after the chemo shrinks his left axilla
and bottoms his bone marrow
to enable the strong treatment
which i visualise with him
it is shrinking since last week
today was his second day of thratment
an honor

they say the soul is in the blood

we do soul transfusions all the time around here!

wonder how his spiriitual "friends" will receive him
alive, transfigured
after he gets a transfusion
against the church dogma

nodding orthodox curls
slumbering peace

My uncle Abe used to tell me "live in hope and die in despair." I thought it was a Jewish proverb but now I think it might be from Dickens.

The way things going for me I intend to live in despair and die and hope.

It just don't get no more Freudian than that.

Too pooped to pound mingo
just tippy tapping
jitterbugging
with Pall Malls and coffee.

Been there done that
Upstate new york through the mountains and the lakes

Seen the world go white
white out
shit or go blind
terror
puckered up with a grip on the seat with both cheeks

so scared you could not have drove a ten penny nail up my arse with a hammer.

Oh god and changing weather
freezing rain to sleet to snow to freezing rain and back again laying down layer of slick upon slick.

I got this guy I call the Driver, most truckers call him the Good Lord. That cool hand behind the wheel with the light touch who takes over when I am parallelized in fear.

Up to Platsburg, Syracuse too, over into canada and trough those Indian reservations.

Hard core trucking

Rocket From Gaza Strikes Israeli City

Israel’s leaders said a central aim of the 22-day military offensive was to deter the militants from firing rockets. But many Israelis said they felt the military operation did not go far enough, a sentiment that has so far benefited the political hawks.

“The fact that there are still rockets means that the operation did not succeed,” Danny Ayalon, a former Israeli ambassador to the United States and a candidate of the nationalist Yisrael Beiteinu party, told foreign reporters here on Sunday. The party has climbed to third place behind the right-wing Likud and centrist Kadima parties, overtaking the once-dominant, center-left Labor Party in several recent polls.

That's a cool color on that ballot box but why is that guy smiling? It's not because he just ate meatloaf is it? I just ate some meatloaf, that's why I'm smiling. But maybe he's not smiling because he ate some meatloaf. Maybe he's smiling for some other completely different reason. I mean, what the hell do I know? And when did I know it?
