Partners

OK, I thought we were a team
you know, like Burns and Allen
Stan and Ollie, Laurel and Hardy
through thick and thin
partners to the end

I guess it was just my illusion
I thought we were Chip and Dale
tit for tat and all of that
Martin and Lewis
Cheech and Chong
Penn and Teller
Ding and Dong

I thought we were give and take
make or break, soup or steak
I thought it was a partnership
like Barnes & Noble or Barnum & Bailey
Proctor & Gamble, Sears & Roebuck
but what the fuck.

I guess I was wrong
do you know how many people it takes to make a partnership?
Two.
and how many does it take to break a partnership?
One.
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

i personally like the partnership of cream cheese and graham crackers

but yes...been there. that "what the fuck" place...yeah man, it sucks. and yes, it can take one...just one to not want it anymore.

doreen, just because you disagree doesn't make it any less true

mj, I like the way Haagen Das and Yoplait team up
