move over just a few inches
scoot over with a breath
and look into that mirror

what is it you see now
that you recognize and
are drawn to but have
no idea where it is despite
knowing what it is that
you cannot see reflecting
back at you and speaking
in reflections of words
that crystallized into love

listen with your heart open
fearless and without armor
you stand as alone as all
do in those times of reflection
breathing in every smell there is
in hunger that demands attention
yet massages comfort into you

[another fine write, my friend. well done]

SmileGRL, I love that phrase, born from the same soul. Lovers often see reflections of themselves in their partner. You are a prolific and consistent in your quality to a tee. I love to get lost in your poetic visions.

the whole world is your mirror
reflecting everything you are

what you write is
a self portrait

I like this

thank you kindly, mr. cecil...indeed. what is it we do not see but know is there...teasing us to be aware...(growing up, whenever we rhymed unexpectedly, we used to say: "i'm a poet and i don't even know it"...such a moment i just had...haha). not making light what you said...more like buyng time to internalize it. thanks for inspiring thought .

john...yes. the perfect moments are those in which we connect with another on such an intimate level that we recognize ourselves in them...when we feel like we belong. we are seen. we can love without fear because we are understood. "born from the same soul"...home. thank you for always giving me gold stars.

walt...true. the whole world, that is. but it is a little harder to see yourself in anything other than another human being or an animal. everything i write is a selfportrait. thanks for liking it and for sharing insight.

eye to
eye --

thought
reflected;
this facing
of sides.
different visions
shape the eye .
i see clearly.
can no-one
touch a horizon?
find a mirror!

m i r r o r

mirror a find;
horizon, a touch.
no-one can clearly see.
i eye the shape visions --
different sides of
facing this
reflected
thought;

eye
to eye.

it's all about perceptions, we each carry our own unique evaluating system, and we constantly are running the data through, the answers coming back to us distorted or at least colored by our own personality to some degree, the question becomes am I seeing what I think I see, there in your reflection.....is the image true, or has the refracted light of me, altered it....very stimulating words....
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

yes, it is all about what color is the "glasses" you are wearing when you look at another. and yet the truth is always clear to see, if we want to see it. thank you for reading mr. saw 8)
