Truth in Valentines

Post by Lightning Rod » February 14th, 2009, 2:42 pm

if you want to woo me
tell me lies
my features are perfect
I have lovely eyes

I'm fine as a sculpture
I'm just the right size
If you want to woo me
tell me lies

I'm quite a catch
I'm quite the prize
If you want to woo me
tell me lies

I'm beauty embodied
a jelly surprise
If you want to woo me
tell me lies

The truth won't do
I'm love in disguise
If you want to woo me
tell me lies
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

I grew up with the aphorism "honesty is the best policy" occasionally kicking around the cellars of head time. Where did that come from? Lies are essential to life, as should be obvious enough by now. We need to study them a little more. Hey, maybe the government should study them. Perfect!
