The Quick

Post by justwalt » February 25th, 2009, 2:06 am

I feel it begin, my dark friend mine
who has never failed to blend in
fine line sharpened fingernail knives
to pierce the muscles of my back
that I could act, would it be love
one of a sort I can only be sure
my joy of pain pure, original in
time and again, long over due
I pull you through the limits to
my deepest heart in like kind
we trek in view without permit
finding true that state of mind
we enter night that steals chase
to our embrace the flight a cause
for he to end a pause of life
and feel again the call to be of
light in day set ever free

I've been thinking about this one.

"my joy of pain pure, original in time.." really sticks with me.

And the whole last part reminds me of desert camping,
that state of mind...

thank you nazz, this is a proclamation of impending lessons I hope
to attend in a few months...life changing things, and I will have to change my whole current life situation even before I begin. It is a calling of sorts, expressing the depth of what I have already come to know, and the much larger understanding yet to obtain. The pain written into this poem is, (some physical, but mostly emotional), of
course, is one of my respected teachers...not to say that I don't love nails piercing my back, I do, but that reference is of memories, which need to be revisited too...is that sick? I doubt it...it's just a love of life, something to fill in the blanks with.

our souls sends us both gentle and piercing reminders when we need them. and no it isn't sick to revisit pain. sometimes you have to dig through the rubble too find the treasure. but of course you know all of this...

love the poem.
