Cecil Lee's Birthday
quiet from the west
has cecil entered the realm of emptiness?
you know he has
and from there
waves of inner peace
shimmy and shine
happy birthday to the mtmynd
and the full heart

What a nice surprise to see this post!
Thank you, Judih and all the others for the good wishes. I need them all.
I have been down with health problems, runny nose, coughing and a general lack of energy, going on ten days plus. Obviously with that condition hanging over the head (or is that in the head?), celebration was not in the cards. But around 6 pm I decided to take a short trip to the local booze house and score myself a nice bottle of Sauza Anejo Conmemerotivo tequila... strictly as a medicinal relief, mind you ...
A few shots with some key lime proved to be beneficial... I slept well and arose this a.m. feeling well rested which is a nice feeling, as we all might agreee.
My favorite person, SooZen, has regrettably been down from the same cold that I have, despite putting up me for over a week, but inevitably, she succumbed to the dreaded cold, and I have been trying to make her initial down time as comfortable as I can..
We create scenarios in our minds as to how we would like things to be, and having a sixtieth birthday yesterday I figured on a special celebration... I mean, who would've ever thunk? Entering this new decade with a cold, coughing and warnings from two friends that this might turn into a case of pneumonia make the joy of a 6th decade somewhat grim... geez! But I am a persistant old fool and have not dealt with doctors for years, other than a brief check for high blood pressure a couple of years ago, which proved to be not serious at all, and will only consider seeing one when I cannnot get out of my bed. A real smart guy, eh?
I heard it said not long ago that our minds are forever young and that it is only our bodies that limit our capabilities. Sixty is not considered old in comparison to the old ages that others have reached - my own mother reached 96 before her passing, but whether I have her genes or those of my father's, who only reached 60 before his heart gave up, time can only telll. I have promises of a few that some sort of celebration will be due once I get over this goddam ailment.
Thank you once again for your wishes, my cyber-friends,
Cecil

mnaz, Hes' and artguy - today is Thurs nite and my coughing is not quite as violent and not nearly as frequent, but still annoying enough to frustrate me. And Soo woke up this morning feeling really good only to slowly return to a runny nose and slight coughing as the day wore on.
I don't get around here as often as I'd like, but do try to keep up with short visits now and then.
Thank you for you kind words.
