The eyes have it

Post by Doreen Peri » March 8th, 2009, 2:58 pm

.
.
.
i saw the look in her eyes
but didn't realize that it was
indicative of a fabrication.

i thought instead it was
all in my head but it wasn't,
it was in hers.

what's worse is this –
how could i have missed it?

the peculiar stare led
to an air of negative vibration.
the lie became evident
with the frequency.

but since it was something
i didn't want to believe,
i experienced cognitive
delinquency.

should have trusted my gut,
listened to my intuition.
it was a water-is-wet observation.

"cognitive delinquency".
I like that. I can relate to that. Hell, I could write a book!

cognitive delinquency
should have trusted my gut

visceral wisdom

Not sure if that is the best link,

this is interesting too,
You have a second brain residing in your gut!
The "second brain" that Dr. Gershon refers to in his book by the same name, is the Enteric Nervous System (ENS). The ENS is a highly complex web of nerves, the bulk of which reside in the intestinal tract. It is my understanding from years of study in Japan, that the ENS in our gut, is what the Oriental masters refer to as "hara" or "one point"

The Brain In Your Gut

Thanks for the poem

If only we could see the world as it is, not as we wish it too be. You got the gift of lyrical insight my friend. Great going!! :)

My eyes said "What's wrong?" and I verbally asked, "What's wrong?" and she replied, "Nothing."

And then it became quite evident not very long afterward that what was wrong was I was being lied to.

yes, being lied to is the only insult worth noticing

a slap up side the head with a two by four is a hell of an insult too.

I looked into his eyes and there were wormy things crawling in them

Never should have turned my back on him
