i tried to send you one but it's late and i didn't
i love you more than breathing in and out.

love cannot
comprehend doubt.

my legs are long.
my voice, tall.

i fall into arms –
buttermelt – felt by
perfection.

love letters are necessary
to be sure rejection is not perceived.

grieve about the dismiss because that is just
but just in case anybody tries this case,
let the evidence be clear.

i am here. you are here.

we hear the sound of love
letters, abc's, twenty consonants, six vowels,
howls of meaningful meaningless glee, towels
wiping brows from corners of fights but all i wanted
tonight was for you to see my legs, firm dancing from
the evade of a glance, the chance that maybe a tradewind
might understand.

trade.
winds.
tradewinds and letters.

give me you, please. come
be my sweater to keep me warm.
i am born anew because of you and
your arms form my home.

love letters.

see my legs as they stretch to become a vee so you can slip
inside of me? see my arms like an opening to comfort? see my dumb
flirtation, my great trip from a curb? see the word i speak turn into
a cartoon? see me soon in the room beside you see me wide open to
the ignorance of candleshadow allowances, the valance fabric draped
like takes of skin, quakes of earth, cursed idiosynchrasies interspersed
with whatever it is they're interspersed with.... takes, forgives, indellible
inks misspelled, spells of heart fire quelled by not paying attention, hells
coming back from, heavens created, mated chests, hearts elated

and there are interruptions, eruptions from visitation and pens
which write the night like light had
had some significance

but if it ever meant
anything before,
it means more
now.

and so i say i love you since this is true.
do you see me? do you want me to see you?
i take off blinders to renew a vow –
write love letters, somehow –
each day i must.

if you leave me, i am going with you
since that would be just.
and if i must
die,
that
would
be absurd
since
i could not write
another love letter –-

not another word.
