but i can't bury the bodies
not just yet

i'm waiting for the flesh
to decay into dust
that will lightly drape
the warm bones beneath

i'll build objects d'art
with the bones
and give them nicknames
"dodger" & "sweety"

two of a kind holding
each other up until
the resurrection comes
and poetry reincarnates

phantoms from long ago
newly rediscovered
one hundred year from now
and people will be amazed

Maybe if I carve them in some rock...
that might buy me a few millennia,
if placed right.

But then, some big ass asteroid X-17
may yet be lurking somewhere out there,
and may yet have something to say about it.

There's gotta be a better word for word,
like maybe 'pa-la-bra'...

I think you're right, mnaz... palabra does sound softer and more meaningful... pa-la-bra... la pa-la-bra... smooth. me gusta. beats 'wyrd' which has a flighty look but no change of sound.
