lyric next--imaginary musical

Post by Lightning Rod » March 16th, 2009, 2:00 am

I think I'm going mad
but first I'm getting drunk
the problem is deeper,
larger than I'd thunk

it's the Big Crunch Theory
universes collapsing
sicker than the economy
my consciousness is lapsing

I think I'm going mad
but I have no patience with therapy
twelve steps walking backwards
and nothing has prepare-ed me

I think I'm going mad
perhaps that's where I want to go
I prefer it to confusion, or
bitterness or vertigo

it's the Big Crunch Theory
universes collapsing
sicker than the economy
my consciousness is lapsing

Yes, I think I'm going crazy
I think I'm going mad
vaguely I remember
the senses that I had

I think I'm going mad
but just before I go
I'd like to say a few words
such-and-such, so-and-so

Yes, I'm going mad
crazy, crazy, crazy
but first
I'm getting drunk
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

Thanks guys,

This is a song.
It's part of the iMusical project
I see it as a Cole Porter tune
or something from The Thin Man
elegant black and white setting
wet bar with mirrors around it
the character is getting drunk
and talking to himself in the mirror
the dog is in there somewhere
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."
