No can do on the garden, Jack, not at the moment anyway. It's right at the edge of the woods here & just before the snow began falling last autumn we had a windstorm come through which toppled several locust trees across it. I never had a chance to get out there before the snow began to cut the fallen trees into manageable lengths to haul off. I'll be getting to it as the spring gets along. Thanks for posting the toad where Wireman could see it.

Yesterday the Olds wouldn't start. So I replaced the gas filter. Got in the car turned the key. It fired right up and stayed running. I went Yeah! Left it running as I picked up my tools. Just as I put the last wrench in the tool bag the car quit running. Well, that's enough for me. I don't understand all this technology and I don't want to have the understanding of it cluttering up my gob of brain. I call a garage then a tow company. Tow is 60 bucks plus tax. The garage calls back says there is nothing wrong with the car. Had a washer and dryer installed at the lodge yesterday. This morning the carpet in the kitchen is soaking wet. Put new washers in the valves and need to run down to Loew's for a new hose. Maybe I'll look at new coffee makers while I'm there seeing how's my current edition leaked all the coffee it made this morning all over the kitchen to mix with the water already in the carpet from the washer. God bless America. Plus tax.

Since the island. Electricity can be directed from remote locations. Towards the end of their lives some fish try standing on their tails. To the left is the window. Give the rock a hug. Revelation is the by-product of intimacy. Since the island. Book & scramble. Billy the Kid looks at the hole in the wall & says; "I cannot speak Hebrew but I love the way it looks when it is written." The neighbor gets his tractor fixed. I agree with windstorms and flame. Let breakfast be my mountain, my billboard, my finger unicorn, a seagull at my eye. Mother, I have a boat. I'm going to sail where the fish are standing on their tails. I'm hugging my rock. I'm going to hug Billy the Kid. He & I will go to the wedding of the unicorn & the seagull. We will buy a Cuisinart coffeemaker for 100 dollars as the neighbor disappears over the hill & into the woods on his tractor. We will camp by the sea. We will speak of women. We will tell tales of the island. We will legitimize our dreams by learning to write Hebrew with our fingers in the wet sand.

Touch of Smoke

lets clear some skin
lets cathedral a fragment
lets fascinate the ornament
lets snake the poison safely past our vessel
and lewd our glittering splendid with
dipping deep into the earth
and decorate every dizzy beggar we pass
with a touch of smoke

Settles neath serenity's tree and listens
as the words float by
and smile, and tickled
transcend as smoke wafts
encircles overhead
then puffs away
and clearing head
finds sleep against the muffled sky

A good place this.
I used to walk with my head in the clouds but I kept getting struck by lightning!
Now my head twitches and I drool alot. Anonymouse

I pushed a bunch of keys and clicked a bunch of clicks to get here...bunch of turtles in my brain not awake yet and all huddled together...got Joni spinning away inside the box here...she's singing about Coyote...there's a doll dressed in deerskin on the shelf...I can't argue with the notion that everything is connected but no one knows where it's pointed to...my teeth soften and fall out...

An old blues singer is Joni's subject now..."Like he's listening back"...
I used to think that what had been was the best and wanted to return to it but that has changed...whatever we are part of is rushing forward & I don't feel robbed anymore...I am my own thief.

The turtles are beginning to move around... they bump off of each other's shells sometimes - turtles are not porous creatures but they are cat-proof. They stymie fang & claw. I once saw a turtle freak out a cow. The cow stuck his nose out to sniff the turtle & the turtle drew quick back into his shell. The cow about fell over trying to back up and the commotion freaked the rest of the cows as they ricocheted off each other trying to get away from they didn't know what until only the turtle was left. I gave that turtle a name. I called him Clearer of Cows.

Joni's gonna be singing about a black crow here in moment. It's a good song.

The world of sunrises is a spider plant word flung among other spider plant words.

I found a bunch of muffins ready for the trash at work last night. I brought them home for the crows. I read once that crows can identify individual human beings. My crows know me better than I know them.

I was talking to a Mohawk who lives on a rez that is cut in two by the St. Lawrence River. The river is the border between the great state of Yew Nork & Canada. Half his rez is in Canada as a result and the other half in Yew Nork. The Mohawk gave me some shit about the word "border" He & I are friends. I gave his shit right back to him. Told him history is not my fault.

Time to bust up the muffins & go feed the crows.

Meanwhile Time Marches On
& History is a black and white Newsreel before the Saturday matinee.

Munching my popcorn and watching the trail of tears as the Creek Nation become Okies from Muskogee.

Woke up this morning still feeling like I'd been ate by a coyote & crapped off a cliff. All of it over a stupid car that came back to me from the shop more screwed up than when it went in ... I need to kill a Buddha, got one ya ain't using?
