when you were a dancer

Post by Perdida » April 1st, 2009, 7:12 am

life was

when sometimes
you danced to the music
on your own:

arms outstretched

your head turning from side to side
oh how you would wear a smile as big as the house
shaking your tail feather

i remember this

standing back, watching you
sometimes laughing
at you . . .

with you:

our eyes danced together
and my smile would always
touch yours
for those few moments
when you were a dancer

Hmmm, have I read this before?

At any rate, your dedication at the end makes it a wonderful poem. I picture a young girl throughout the reading only to see that young girl transformed into a 'mum' at the end.

That was good!
