The Solipsist

Post by Lightning Rod » April 1st, 2009, 9:30 pm

they told me she was a solipsist
I thought that sounded erotic
like she was good at sensual tricks
from novel to exotic
little did I know that she could only know herself

so I looked it up
the word has nothing to do with
fellatio, cunnilingus or coitus
it's more about philosophy

according to the book
her clitoris
is all that exists
is all that she can know
and nobody knows it
but her

I'm no existentialist
but I was really pissed
I thought that a solipsist
did tricks like a ventriloquist

I should have paid more attention
in philosophy class
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

Had to comment...because years ago I looked up these three words to see if they were what I am. I thought so, but I had to check for sure.

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/existentialism

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/solipsism

Because, you see, this is what I am...a deistically existential solipsist. I believe the universe is an artifact, that it was created, though the creator seems to remain indifferent to it. I understand that I make my own choices in life, and that I assume full responsibility for the choices I make. But I can't prove any of it beyond my own individual sense data.

Deistically existential solipsism.

Don't know what that's got to do with clits though. I've never had one that I remember.;)

Peace,
Barry

I enjoyed the poem a lot Clay, a real pleasure to read.

Reading Lolita In Tehran
, a very interesting book about men who solipsize men.

Kind of hoping some one writes a poem about that some day.

sincerely
