Daily Grind

Post by saw » April 15th, 2009, 2:57 pm

I fully expected to see enlightenment there
a floating sentence or two in the caffeinated
liquid that stared back at me with creamy
brown eyes that could absorb a man against
his will, but words did not appear in my loving
cup, no inspiration there to be sipped over
cracked earthen lips, absorbent moist intoxication

that would linger on a barren tongue, delicious
words with an illuminating bouquet that would dance
along ancient nasal passageways that lead directly
to this petrified brain of mine that waits in limbo
for the marinated genius that triggers desire,
that awakens the sleeping ambition of snoring
giants that lie about in befuddled clouds

content to wait for the scent of an Englishman's
blood to rouse them from the Fe Fi Fo Humdrum
patterns of doing business with the world, just
a few simple bathing beauties free-styling.
backstroking, butterflying in the rich warm
Colombian water, but it occurred to me that
perhaps I was just another disenfranchised romantic

hoping for a little of that rumored coffee shop magic.
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

were you at the grind? i used to hang out there - next to the orpheum, but regardless of my moldy memories, i enjoyed, as always, perusing through the heart and mind of my dear comrade.

I hope this doesn't come off too syrupy but I found this deliciously chaotic.

That is, I enjoyed it.

I liked the circularity of it. Effectively, one could read just the first and last lines and get the whole thing. It blasts off, achieves orbit, then comes back to earth. Like a spacelflight. 8)

i loved having coffee with you. i am grateful to have had these moments with you
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---
