Obama and Chavez

Post by Yejun » April 24th, 2009, 8:28 pm

Some people seem to be upset that Obama shook the hand of Hugo Chavez.

What was he supposed to do?

Here are three scenarios:

Scenario 1: Chavez approaches HPRP with hand outstretched. HPRP creates incredibly awkward scene by completely ignoring Chavez until he eventually goes away.

Scenario 2: Chavez approaches HPRP with hand outstretched. HPRP extends his own hand as if he's going to shake but then pulls it away at the last second and says "psyche!" He then high fives the president of Argentina.

Scenario 3: Chavez approaches HPRP with hand outstretched. HPRP takes Chavez' hand but then immediately flips him over his shoulder and body slams him to the ground.
I'm partial to number two.

hey, the scenarios seem picked from an Allen´s movie...!!!! :) 2... mmm... let´s see... I guess our technicolor-president would have been very enthusiast despite repetition-compulsion-anticipation-reparation-mediation scenes and Obama would probably have ended without the book!

by the way, last monday I saw in a local shopping center´s library two books written by Obama in the best sellers table. No idea about them!. Just curious, have you read them?

It's damn time we had a president who was smart, open minded, and real. Meeting Chavez, shaking his hand was way overdue.
