I took the train past winding roads and lofty lanes
clasped my heart in a locket cause it's all I got
met those who were open to meeting
and sped past men who weren't looking.

I took the train where they served liver and cod
on a silver platter with wine and white linen
or was it lace?

I took the train, the one with the express line
not bumping just swishing
looking to the engineer with raised brow.

I took the train cause I'm waiting
the other served beer.

Sort of snakey and sneaky it bubbles and blows
Greedy for more paper for the fire
